In 1999 my boy David Reyero planted the seed and "Our House Mixshow" (88.5 FM WMNF Tampa)was born. He nurtured it and delivered the best house music you could find week after week. Now he had help, but he was the one constant. Jask came aboard and the rest is history. They have both since moved on with lots of expectations of success from all of us ........ good luck to you both. So then came the time for me to take the reigns. So understand this although we are closing the doors on one chapter we are opening the doors to another. The last broadcast of Our House Mixshow was on 1/21/2007 (that's right almost 8 years strong). It's time for one story to end and another to begin. Welcome to "House Of Soul" my vision and hopefully a successful journey for all of us . I was brought on as an occasional guest by David and eventually entrusted to host "Our House" up at WMNF. Although not optimistic about it's chances without David or Jask I was able to keep the vibe going for another 2 years. So that's how I was able to convince the right people up at WMNF that Tampa needs this show, Tampa radio needs this outlet for deep soulful house. Well, I got my wish. The show's format was picked up and I was encouraged to bring my own vibe and flavor. So with David's blessing I gave it new life. "House Of Soul" can be heard every Saturday night / Sunday morning from 3 am - 6 am (same time slot as Our House). As always providing the deep soulful sounds will be yours truly (John Velez)and my co-host DJ Victor Colon. We're going to serve it up just the way you like it, deep and soulful, with a few tricks up our sleeves. One thing is for sure, we're going to keep people guessing. Dance classics, classic house, disco, you'll never know what you are going to hear.
